While working with Elle magazine, I've really created an eye for style and fashion trends. I've been handling accessories that I will someday be able to afford-- from Hermes to Louboutin, to the beautiful bags of Nancy Gonzalez and Marc Jacobs, to the endless costume/fine jewlery from all of my new favorites: Fenton, Greg Wolff, and Chanel.
I've also been reading Victoria Beckham's best seller, "That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels, and Everything in Between," which is just genius, leading me to my main point. I have a newfound respect and real appreciation for Victoria Beckham. Fashion changes, our opinions on lines, designers, and styles change. For example, someone who's always hated leather studded accessories because they weren't for them, was decked out in them today!
Even VB states that she was never into horizontal stripes-- words of advice from her "mum" that she always followed until recently, hence the amazing striped dress she wore for the cover shoot. There are always exceptions to rules, is something I've really learned from her book.
Victoria Beckham: LBD Bombshell. Known for her "LBD" (Little Black Dress) wearing days in the Spice Girls age, over the past decades, Victoria Beckham went from Posh Spice to a sexy, fashionable, stunning model, fashion designer, author and all around icon. With her line, dVb, her personality and creative style shines through. In her book, she even shares that her first school bag was a shopping bag from Gucci, since she just loved it, and carried all her books in it until the bottom literally, fell out. Must have been fate that her first designer bag was in fact, a Gucci.
Over all, keep it up Posh. After reading, I realized that those who think Victoria Beckham is a rich, stuck up, British snob, are not right. If they are, then VB has an awesome Ghost Writer. Her words of advice were dependable and real. She adores her family, which she can't talk about enough in her book, and she understands people. She even hints at where to buy if you are short on cash, or are more wealthy, what to spend more on (things that will be used a lot!), and where her favorites are located.
Thanks for the awesome tips and a viewpoint into your life. If you haven't already been convinced, go buy her book. It's really good, interesting, and has a lot of cute references to her hottie, David Beckham, her tattoos (didn't know that, did ya?), her children, and ofcourse, her fashion sense. Which is just outrageously amazing.
